Common Questions
- Do we need a permit for our alarm system? We do not require permits for alarm systems. Please make sure your alarm company has the correct dispatch number: 317-773-1282.
- Background Checks? If you need a local background check, please email Records. By appointment, Westfield residents only.
- Do I have an arrest warrant? If you receive a call stating you have a warrant out for your arrest, it is likely a scam. Warrants are not typically issued by phone. Please contact dispatch at 317-773-1282.
- Property Release: If you have received a letter stating that you have property to pick up, please follow the instructions on the letter. If you need to schedule an appointment to pick up the property, please contact 317-804-3200 and ask for the property department. If you have lost, found, or stolen property to report, please contact dispatch at 317-773-1282.

Child Car Seat
The Westfield Police Department has certified car seat technicians available for education, inspection and installation of child car safety seats. Research shows the majority of seats are installed and/or used improperly yet a properly installed safety seat dramatically reduces the chance of injury or death in a vehicle crash.

Fingerprinting
Fingerprinting services are provided to Westfield residents only by appointment. Cost is $5 per card payable by cash, check, money order, or credit card. Please contact 317-804-3200 to schedule.

Golf Cart Inspections
Golf carts are permitted on certain city streets. Prior to operation, the golf cart must be inspected by a Westfield Police Officer.

Towed Vehicle Release

Vacation Watch: Safety Tips & Security Checks
If you are going on vacation or will be away from your home an extended period of time, you may request to have additional patrols. Officers will provide extra patrols as time permits and will contact you or your designated emergency contact if a problem arises.
