Driveways & Sidewalk Inspections

Plot Plan Requests

To request a plot plan, please email the Building Department and include the following information:

  • Your full name
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Address of the requested plot plan

Uncovered Patios

  • A permit is not required from Community Development.
  • Important: An encroachment permit may be required by Westfield Public Works.
    • Please contact them at 317-804-3171 for more information.

Attached & Covered Porches

  • A building permit is required from Community Development.
  • You may access the permit application here.

Inspection Scheduling Policies

  • Same-day inspections are not available.
  • Inspections may be scheduled Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, excluding holidays.
  • Please note: The department is closed from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM for lunch.
  • The only timed inspections are for:
    1. Footings
    2. Commercial Final Inspections
